Meet the Mactaggart and Mickel Timber Systems team.
Ross is a 4th generation family member who first joined Mactaggart & Mickel’s Homes division in January 2006. Ross was appointed Commercial Manager of Mactaggart & Mickel Timber Systems upon our acquisition of the business in March 2007.
In his role, Ross has overseen the development and implementation of our innovative closed panel system and bathroom pods, in addition to working with outside partners as part of our recent contracts at Erskine, Renfrew and Lochrin, Edinburgh. From this Ross was promoted to General Manager and then Director and has led Timber Systems into Profit for the first time.
Stuart DouglasGeneral Manager
Stuart joined Timber Systems in January 2014 in the role of General Manager. Having considerable experience in both, sales and operational management, Stuart's remit is to lead our Timber Systems team to deliver continuous growth at both an operational and strategic level whilst maintaining our renowned reputation for quality and dependability.
Colin AlexanderDesign Manager
Colin joined Mactaggart & Mickel Timber Systems in October 2012 as a Timber Frame Designer. Colin’s vast technical and design experience has been gained through many years working within the timber frame sector.
Alasdair MacMillanSales Estimator
Having a background in timber frame estimating, Alasdair has been brought into the Estimating department due to the continued growth of Timber Systems. He is responsible for pricing all aspects of the timber frame package for both Mactaggart & Mickel Homes & external clients.
Martin FitzsimmonsSales Estimator
Martin joined MMTS in March 2010 with the remit of establishing and maintaining an effective estimating department for the external timber frame market as MMTS were moving into this sector having established themselves as a developing timber frame manufacturer while supplying Mactaggart & Mickel Homes during their change over from masonry construction to timber frame. Martin currently holds the position of Sales/Estimator within the company and is responsible for the timely return of pricing and customer liaison.
Jim ReynoldsContracts Manager
Jim joined Mactaggart & Mickelt Group in 2008 as a kit erect team leader and was promoted to Contracts Supervisor in 2009. Then I had the opportunity to sit my Appointed Person Course which allowed me to do lifting plans and craneage. Since 2013 I have been working as the Contracts Manager, my role involves dealing with all subcontractors, site visits/meetings ensuring work is running smoothly, that they have the correct deliveries. Ensuring all work is complete to Mactaggart and Mickel high standards.
Paul StarrittContracts Manager
Paul joined Mactaggart & Mickel Group in 1997 as a Joiner and progressed from General Foreman to Site Manager. I have since been promoted to Contracts Manager at Mactaggart & Mickel Timber Systems. Whilst I was a Site Manager, I worked at many of Mactaggart & Mickel Homes sites including Newton Mearns, flatted development at Anniesland, Erskine Hospital Homes, Commonwealth Games Village and more recently Douglas Gardens in Milngavie. I have gained many years of experience within the last 27 years around new build and working with bespoke clients.
Carol FernsOffice Manager
Carol joined Mactaggart & Mickel Group in November 2012 employed as a Site Administrator at the Commonwealth Games Village. Having worked in Construction for 10 years previously I had brought some experience I had gained in that time. I have gained so much more working with the team at Mactaggart & Mickel.
