Over the last few years, we have engaged with the local community and stakeholders about our proposals to deliver homes to the west of Quarry Drive in Kilmacolm. We have now submitted an outline planning application to deliver up to 75 new homes, along with a new community park and other community benefits. The plans would see a minimum of 20 homes of these as either discount market, shared ownership or affordable rent to make our plans as inclusive as possible. This will help deliver much needed homes for young families.
The homes will range in size from smaller three-bedroom semi-detached homes to larger four- and five-bedroom family homes. However, the planning application is an outline application only, which gives us the flexibility to listen and respond to concerns and genuinely involve the current residents of Kilmacolm in the design of the development and the creation of related community benefits.
We have set up a website that contains all the information to the planning submission and importantly an opportunity to submit ideas for community benefits projects. You have until 10th December 2020 to visit our website and give us your ideas, input and suggestions. In early 2021 we will feedback on the ideas that we’ve received and what we can incorporate in our proposals.
