Mactaggart & Mickel recognised for “outstanding contribution” at family business awards
Mactaggart & Mickel Group has been recognised for its outstanding contribution at the recent Herald Scottish Family Business Awards in Glasgow.
More than 300 guests attended the ceremony at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow on Wednesday 2 December. The family construction firm took home the Outstanding Contribution Award in recognition of its economic and social impact as a Scottish-headquartered family business over the years.
Ed Monaghan, chief executive of Mactaggart & Mickel Group, said: “I’m extremely proud of our team at Mactaggart & Mickel Group, each of whom has played a part in us winning this award. As a family business our people are particularly important to us and it is gratifying to be recognised for our contribution at a ceremony that celebrates this ethos.”
“This award is particularly poignant as we mark our 90th year of business and gives the entire team one more reason to celebrate this important milestone.”
It was reported in The Herald that John Anderson, director of the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, praised Mactaggart & Mickel Group saying the company is “still innovating and creating prosperity”.
Dozens of companies from around Scotland were nominated at the awards which were held in association with Business Gateway and supported by Strathclyde Business School.
