Paint the townhouse red at Marchfields

At The Marchfields Townhouses househunters can have a home fit for the pages of any glossy magazine thanks to some top tips from our interior designer, Suzanne Duncan.

Situated in the attractive suburb of Davidson’s Mains just three short miles from Edinburgh, The Marchfields Townhouses offer househunters spacious living in a little slice of urban paradise. Residents can take advantage of the array of activities right on their doorstep.

Suzanne Duncan, of Abercromby Interiors, will design the Marchfield Townhouses showhome and she has offered up some top tips to help interior design enthusiasts create the home they always dreamed of:

“The first thing to do is select a neutral base colour. I would always recommend cream, beige, bronze or silver as these colours are light and bright. Then pick a signature colour to use as a highlighter to make your house really stand out.

“Ideally your colour scheme should flow throughout the house creating the illusion that it is bigger and airier. This isn’t always possible but try to include the same neutral colour in all rooms to help achieve this.

“Don’t think that you need to purchase completely new furniture to get that stylish showhome look. It is surprising how much the look of a room can be updated by adding some new cushions and throws.

“Lastly, visit other Mactaggart & Mickel Homes’ showhomes to get an idea of what can work for your type of house – you might get some inspiration for different looks you could try.”

Spread over three floors, the Jura townhouses at the development give residents the chance to create a bespoke layout to suit their needs. With numerous multi-purpose areas, rooms can be transformed from bedrooms to book nooks, dining rooms to family rooms and much more. Househunters will have the chance to explore the versatility of this property when the new showhome opens in late 2014.

At The Marchfields Townhouses residents will be spoiled for choice with the range of local leisure facilities including Blackhall Tennis Club and Murrayfield Golf Club which are just a short distance away. As well as this residents can enjoy the benefit of all the shops, restaurants and multitude of other cultural activities on offer in Edinburgh city centre.

A visit to our nearby Hillpark development, which has two townhouse showhomes, will help househunters visualise what their new home could look like.
