Support group for stalking victims receives funding boost from Mactaggart & Mickel Homes
Ayrshire-based support group Action Against Stalking has received a donation of £1,000 from family housebuilder Mactaggart & Mickel Homes’ Building Communities Fund.
The donation will go towards the charity’s work in raising awareness of the crime of stalking and its effects on individuals and families, and helping support victims of stalking.
Mactaggart & Mickel Homes have a happy history of supporting good causes. The Building Communities Fund was created to continue the company’s ongoing efforts to help local organisations and projects which enhance the lives of people within their communities.
The fund is open throughout the year to applications from charities, community groups, sports teams and schools within a five mile radius of any current Mactaggart & Mickel Homes developments, such as Greenan Views in Doofoot, Ayr.
Joanne Casey from Mactaggart & Mickel commented: “Action Against Stalkingis one of the first good causes to benefit from our Building Communities Fund and we were very pleased to be able to help them continue to make a difference in their local community.
“We have always been committed to working closely with the communities surrounding our developments, from being as considerate as possible during construction to supporting local organisations, charities, schools and groups. The Building Communities Fund allows us to give an extra helping hand to some of these deserving causes.”
Ann Moulds, Founder and CEO of Action Against Stalking says: “Action Against Stalking is very grateful to Mactaggart and Mickel Homes for the generous grant they have given us. This will go towards our promotional campaign to raise awareness of stalking. The campaign will also help to inform people what to do if they are being stalked and support victims of stalking.”
