Symington community group receives funding boost from Mactaggart & Mickel Homes
Lucky local group Symington Community Projects has received a donation of £1,000 from family housebuilder Mactaggart & Mickel Homes’ Building Communities Fund.
The much-needed donation will contribute to the organisations’s fundraising efforts to refurbish the parking facilities at Symington Hall for All which is used by a wide range of local community groups and residents.
Mactaggart & Mickel Homes has a history of supporting good causes. The Building Communities Fund was created to continue the company’s ongoing efforts to help organisations and projects which enhance the lives of people within their local communities.
The fund is open throughout the year to applications from charities, community groups, sports teams and schools within a five mile radius of any live Mactaggart & Mickel Homes development like Greenan Views in Doonfoot and Braemore Wood in Troon.
Joanne Casey, director at Mactaggart & Mickel commented: “We have been building in Ayrshire for many years and have upcoming plans for more development in Symington, so it was a natural fit for us to lend a helping hand. The hall is at the heart of the local community and we are pleased to be able to contribute to the improvement works which will ensure it remains accessible and enjoyable to use.”
Angela Liggat from Symington Community Projects says: “We’re really appreciative of Mactaggart & Mickel Homes support for this project. We have many users from the local community who have requested the additional parking spaces and disabled parking facilities.
“The donation will be a great contribution towards the overall cost and will mean that not only will our customers have better access to the hall, there will also be less need to take up road side parking spaces on the main street which is a busy village road.”
