CSR
As a family-owned company since 1925, Mactaggart & Mickel have always behaved ethically, morally and responsibly and strived to make a positive contribution to the communities in which we work. Through our Corporate Social Responsibility programme we seek to promote initiatives that benefit our people, our customers and the communities in which we work.
Our activities cover diverse areas and often have lasting effects; from our charitable fundraising, community involvement and the sustainable sourcing of our materials, to initiatives which improve the health, welfare and work-life balance of our employees.
Our People
Our people are at the heart of our success and we are proud to have achieved Investors in People Platinum accreditation. We have a programme of training and development initiatives as well as Employee Forums, occupational health screenings and many other employee benefits schemes. We have also instilled our Health & Safety policy into the whole culture of the business and use a “near-miss” reporting system to encourage our employees to monitor the safety aspects of almost everything they do.
The Mickel Fund
The Mickel Fund is a Registered Scottish Charitable Trust, run by members of the Mickel family but not a part of Mactaggart & Mickel Group. The Fund seeks to improve the lives of others in and around Scotland and around the UK. Find out more by visiting the Fund’s website.
