Terms like Corporate Social Responsibility didn't exist in 1925 but Mactaggart & Mickel practised it nonetheless. As a family owned company, Mactaggart & Mickel have always behaved ethically, morally and responsibly and strived to make a positive contribution to the communities in which we work.
In 2010, we launched ten key goals covering our responsibilities as a business; everything from reducing waste and reducing accidents on our sites, to encouraging our homeowners to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. As a result we have seen tangible results from the various projects and initiatives we’ve undertaken, which have changed for the better the way we operate as a business.
Our approach monitors our impact on the environment and the communities in which we work, but also our employees and how we can ensure they are engaged, supported and fulfilled in their roles. Ensuring a good work/life balance for our employees and making provisions for their development, health and welfare have also been a priority.
In 2016, we also launched our Building Communities Fund, which is open to applications from charities, schools and community groups in the areas in which we build - follow the link to find out more.
