Mac Mic Group Completes Kiltwalk, Raising £3,800 for Kindness Homeless Street Team
A huge congratulations to the Glasgow Mac Mic team who successfully completed the Glasgow 2025 Kiltwalk, raising an impressive £3,800 in support of Kindness Homeless Street Team – a Glasgow-based charity providing vital meals, supplies, and support to people experiencing homelessness. Kindness is also one of Mac Mic Group’s charity partners for our centenary year.
The team completed the 14.3-mile route from Clydebank College to Balloch, Loch Lomond, walking with energy, enthusiasm, and determination – even a bit of drizzle along the way didn’t dampen their spirits.
As a proud family business, Mac Mic Group was especially pleased to see the event bring together not just colleagues, but also their families. Caileigh Dick, daughter of Mac Mic Groups’s Head of Investment Brian Dick, joined the team on the walk — making it a true family affair. Several team members were also met by family and friends at the finish line.
One particularly memorable stretch along the canal was full of surprises – a leafy path teeming with wildlife, including swans, ducks, and even a Shetland pony being exercised along the banks. Spectators along the route added to the lively atmosphere, cheering on the Kiltwalkers as they passed.
The team wore custom t-shirts featuring the Mac Mic Group Centenary tartan on the sleeves, with Group Director Craig Ormond leading the way in a full Mac Mic Group tartan kilt. Many walkers brought along their four-legged friends including Mac Mic’s Head of Investment, Brian Dick, whose dog Cookie completed the walk sporting a Mac Mic tartan neckerchief.
This incredible fundraising effort was made possible thanks to the generous support of friends, family, business contacts, and the Mac Mic Foundation, all of whom helped the team raise funds for a very worthy cause.
Craig Ormond, Group Director, said:
"It was a fantastic day with great team spirit throughout – and for such a worthwhile cause. I’m proud of how our Glasgow team pulled together to raise vital funds for Kindness Homeless Street Team. A huge thank you to everyone who supported us."
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who walked, donated, and cheered the team on — your support truly made a difference.
