Award Winning Housebuilder Chooses Cheltenham For English Hub

Family housebuilder Mactaggart & Mickel Homes England have chosen the iconic Cheltenham House offices in Cheltenham to act as a new hub for the company as they expand into the English housebuilding market.

This fourth-generation family business has been building quality homes in Scotland since 1925 and has won over 100 National House Building Council (NHBC) awards and, most recently, won the highly acclaimed Queen’s Award for Enterprise for their work as part of City Legacy, developers of the Athletes’ Village for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Mactaggart & Mickel Homes England’s move to occupy the fourth floor at Cheltenham House will initially create around 20 full-time jobs for local people, as well as providing supply chain opportunities for construction companies in the Oxfordshire area.

Mactaggart & Mickel Homes England recently received planning permission for their first development of 62 new homes in Milton under Wychwood in Witney, Oxfordshire and work will begin on site shortly.  They have also just been granted planning permission for their second development to build 38 new homes in East Challow in Oxfordshire.

Group director Andrew Mickel commented:

“We are delighted to open our first English office at in this historic spa town which is already home to a number of major companies and a much sought-after location to live and work in.

“The opening of the hub will allow us to employ around 20 permanent members of staff and we look forward to the opportunity of working with both national and local suppliers and providing both employment opportunities and an economic boost to the local area and beyond.”
