Mac Mic Foundation Donation Gives Brownie House Rebuild a Boost
We’re pleased to share that the Mac Mic Foundation has made a donation to Girlguiding Dunbartonshire, providing a welcome boost to the ongoing rebuild of Catterburn Brownie House.
The much-loved Brownie House was badly damaged by flooding in January 2023, and since then Girlguiding Dunbartonshire has been working hard to restore the site so it can once again be a safe, inspiring space for girls and young women from across the area.
The Mac Mic Foundation’s £800 contribution will help support the redevelopment of the Catterburn Outdoor Activity Centre, ensuring the long tradition of outdoor learning, adventure, and friendship can continue for future generations.
Jenny Harvie-Miller, Head of Group Communications and Engagement, said:
“We’ve always been committed to supporting local communities, and we’re really proud to contribute to the redevelopment of the Catterburn Outdoor Activity Centre. This new centre will provide a modern, welcoming space where Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers can explore, learn, and make unforgettable memories together. We’re excited to be part of creating new adventures and opportunities for girls and young women for years to come.”
Lorna Hamilton, County Commissioner for Girlguiding Dunbartonshire, added:
“We’re thrilled to have the support of the Mac Mic Foundation as we continue rebuilding Catterburn. Every donation is like another brick in the wall – helping us construct not just a new building, but a brighter future for our girls. This new centre will be a cornerstone for adventure, learning and friendship for generations to come.”
Catterburn Brownie House has long been a valued community asset, giving Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers the chance to develop new skills, build confidence and create lasting memories. Support like this helps ensure those opportunities can continue for years to come.
