Mac Mic Group Donation Creates Lasting Memories for East Dunbartonshire’s Young Carers

Carers Link East Dunbartonshire received an £800 donation from the Mac Mic Foundation, part of Mac Mic Group, to help provide enriching activities and experiences for young carers during the school holidays.

This year, the donation supported 34 young carers, giving them the chance to enjoy a day trip to Edinburgh Zoo, go tubing at Bearsden Ski Club, and try water sports at Pinkston on the Glasgow Canal.

Jennifer Roe, Chief Executive Officer at Carers Link East Dunbartonshire, said:
“These experiences gave the young carers supported by Carers Link a much-needed break from their caring roles, the chance to socialise with peers who understand their situation, and the opportunity to just be children and have fun. Many of the young people had never experienced activities like these before, and the Mac Mic Foundation have helped to make them feel valued, seen, and supported.”

Andrew Mickel, Director at Mac Mic Group said: “It’s great to know our donation has helped give young carers the chance to have fun and make memories. The work Carers Link does is inspiring  and we’re really pleased the Mac Mic Foundation could play a part in supporting these young people.”
