Mactaggart & Mickel awarded five-star customer service rating for eighth successive year

Mactaggart & Mickel’s commitment to delivering outstanding customer service has been confirmed by its eighth consecutive ‘five-star’ rating from the Home Builders Federation, following an independent customer satisfaction survey.

The coveted industry accolade is awarded to housebuilders for customer satisfaction based on feedback from homeowners; including the quality of their new property, the buying experience and whether they would recommend their housebuilder to a friend.

A five-star rating means at least 90% of customers are willing to recommend their housebuilder. Mactaggart & Mickel are among a select number of housebuilders across the UK to achieve the maximum five stars, with a 97.5% customer satisfaction rating – its highest ever score.

Mactaggart & Mickel have now achieved the maximum five-star rating for eight consecutive years, since becoming eligible in 2013.

Peter Shepherd, Chairman at Mactaggart & Mickel Homes, said:

We know buying a new home is a hugely important decision and we pride ourselves on making the entire process as smooth and enjoyable as possible for our customers.

‘We are immensely proud to have maintained our five-star rating which is one of the most prestigious accolades in the housebuilding world because it reflects what our customers think about us before, during and after their purchase.

“The coronavirus pandemic means these are tough times for everyone so this is a timely pick-me-up for all my Mactaggart & Mickel colleagues – the five stars could not have been secured without our all-round commitment to the highest standards of customer care, attention and quality.”

The fourth-generation Glasgow-based family business, which was formed in 1925, places great emphasis on customer satisfaction, creating a comprehensive Customer Charter and introducing a Seal of Approval for every home. To ensure the final quality checks meet its stringent construction standards, they are personally undertaken by a company director or senior manager.

Traditionally building quality apartments, family homes, bungalows and villas across Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayrshire and central Scotland, Mactaggart & Mickel’s reputation has been boosted following a recent move into England.

Its first development in England, St Jude’s Meadow in Milton-under-Wychwood, West Oxfordshire, saw Mactaggart & Mickel win the coveted NHBC Pride in the Job award last summer.
